This pair of artworks examine separation, isolation and dislocation . This set of artworks are in honor of all those currently displaced, all those waiting on a home. The granular texturee and choice of thick paper in this print production also serve to highlight the concept- there is a thickness and a friction, a dust in the air, a sort of haze of ill defined outcomes. In these piecess I wanted to capture the dignity of these incredible soulds, who suffer so much in this challenging circumstance while they await the compassion and care they deserve. The composition evokes a sense of stillness and poise, reminiscent of pillars of stone, connoting the strength of spirit and resolve despite their circumstances.
