'Luminous” is the outcome of a journey through 3 paintings, all which played with the idea of polarity. It began as "fire and ice", then moved to "mountain and valley" and finally came to rest here, with a symbolic representation of light and darkness. This orb of light, floating on precarious waves through darkness which can at anytime, consume it. But the orb is fearless and hopeful. Never despairing, but ever courageous.
This work is about the power of even a small amount of light in extreme darkness. For in total darkness, the light of one match can change the world.
