Inviting Grace

from $32.00

As this work emerged, it struck a chord in my heart so deep it took my breath away. It spoke to my own grief and powerlessness in the depth of despair. At such times all we can do is to open our heart and appeal for assistance from a greater power. The rose then appears, coming like grace- the gift that comes when we hand something over and let go of the burden. Grace to learn we are never alone in our pain, and that we can always draw on a Source of comfort which helps us find peace at last.

For me, this painting helped in my own healing and illuminates a profound concept; that deep sorrow and the burden of loss push us to become receptive to grace, humility and personal growth.

It causes me to remember a beautiful passage from the Baha’i Writings;

"O SON OF MAN! My calamity is My providence, outwardly it is fire and vengeance, but inwardly it is light and mercy. Hasten thereunto that thou mayest become an eternal light and an immortal spirit. This is My command unto thee, do thou observe it."--Bahá’u’lláh
